Dog Friendly Breaks

Where dogs are part of the family

At The Mole, we’re about being more than pet friendly. We’re pet fanatical. We’ve tried to think of everything to make sure you and your furry friend feel truly at home. From a doggy hamper filled with goodies to a host of dog-friendly activities. From a dedicated dog-only area to miles and miles of woodland walks. Our dog friendly lodges even have a warm outdoor tap to wash those muddy paws after you’ve been out exploring the breathtaking Devonshire landscape. How’s that for welcoming?

It's not surprising then that The Mole was awarded Best in Show by PetsPyjamas Travel Awards.

Dog activities for active dogs

We want your dog’s day to be as active as yours. Which is why we have a host of dog-activities.

DOG PAINTING

No, we don’t mean painting pictures of your dogs. We mean your dogs paint the pictures. With non-toxic paints and a blank canvas, you can help them release their inner Vincent Van Dogh or Frida Pawlo.

COMING SOON, SPRING 2024

Disc Golf

Formerly known as Frisbee golf, Disc Golf is a fun and challenging game where players throw discs at a target. And now your dog can join in by fetching the discs.

Agility course

You can hire an agility course to keep your dog extra entertained. Who knows, we may have a future Crufts’ Winner in the making.

Keep tails wagging while away

Here’s some helpful tips for a relaxing break for you and your pup.

  • Let them explore. New places can be overwhelming for your pup. So let them check out The Mole at their own pace and in their own time.
  • Give them time to rest. With over 125 acres of parkland to explore and a host of activities, your pup will be sure to be pooped. But remember dogs need at least 16 hours of sleep a day, so give them some downtime.
  • Bring some familiar smells. Whether it’s their dog bed or blanket, or their favourite toy, bringing some scents from home will help them settle.
  • Keep to their diet. While a few new treats are a great way to help them feel excited, a total change of food can cause an upset stomach. So bring enough of their food for your stay.
  • Have a health check. Make sure they’re up-to-date with their vaccinations, flea and worm treatments. And if they’re on medication, bring enough for your whole stay.
